Intensive Flamenco Training, Córdoba & Sevilla
Lynn: September 2009 | Part funded by the Arts Council
| Almodóvar del Río, Córdoba |
In September 2009, Lynn travelled to Córdoba to take intensive workshops in Tientos/Tangos with Eva Gonzalez and Bulerías with Jorge del Pino at the Centro Municipal de Flamenco in Almodóvar del Río, Córdoba. There were two levels: Básico and Medio. She joined 18 other students from Poland who travelled with teacher and dancer Magdalena Faszcza.
Almodóvar del Rio is an attractive whitewash pueblo with a castle on the top of the hill as its focal point, beautifully lit at night. It is situated close to the centre of Córdoba city. During the week, the group went into the city to do sightseeing and shopping. In Almodóvar del Río they took a tour to the lake and around the village where there are options to do other activities like watersports and horse riding.
The end of the week-long course finished with a well organised and lively Fiesta which included a dance performance by Jorge del Pino accompanied by El Macareno on guitar and singer Gema 'La Pichurri'.
